Western modernism, its architecture and design, has stead fastly kept graphic communication at a distance.
It has aesthetisized wall surfaces and object volumes into manifestations about timelessness and universal applicability. In 1997, Kukkapuro was asked to design a collection of chairs for the newly renovated Museum of Applied Arts in Helsinki. The Tattooed Chair came out which is now known for its utmost simplicity as well as its visual uniqueness.
